Jankharia Imaging is the premier radiology
and imaging institute in the country. It was started in 1969 by Dr. G. R. Jankharia.
More information about the institute and its growth over the last 30 years is
available at is main website.
Jankharia Imaging’s foray into cardiac radiology and imaging started
in 2002 with the acquisition of a cardiac MRI, the Sonata from Siemens. Dr. Bhavin
Jankharia undertook extensive training at the Royal Brompton Heart & Lung
Institute in London and acquired a level II certification, as recognized by the
American College of Cardiology. Since then, he has been performing the entire
gamut of cardiac MRI studies including viability studies, stress perfusion MRIs,
studies for congenital heart disease, pericardial abnormalities, cardiomyopathies,
etc. For a brief moment, we used cardiac MRI for coronary artery imaging, but
since even 16-slice CT images were better, this path was not pursued.
Though 16-slice CT for coronary angiography has been around for 2 years now, we
waited until it was more robust, faster and reproducible. With the 64-slice CT,
the Sensation 64 from Siemens, those technical wishes have been realized and Jankharia
Imaging became the first institute in the country to acquire this scanner. Technically,
it was also the first to go live in Asia. Dr. Bhavin Jankharia personally
handles the cardiac CT and MRI studies. He is supported by the entire team of
doctors, technologists and nurses. Further staff details are also available here. |
